Spider Solitaire is the classic two-deck patience game: ten tableau columns, fifty cards in the stock, and eight complete suits to build from king down to ace. Move face-up descending sequences, expose hidden cards, and auto-clear finished runs. Easy mode uses one suit; medium uses two; hard uses all four.

Why Play Here

Runs entirely in your browser with tap-to-move controls that work on phone and desktop — no install, no account.

Pick 1-, 2- or 4-suit difficulty, get hints when stuck, and track best times plus your last fifteen wins locally.

How to Play

Tap a face-up card to select the longest descending run from that point, then tap a column to move. Empty columns accept any card or valid run.

Deal one face-up card to each column from the stock — but only when every column already has at least one card. A full same-suit K-through-A run removes itself automatically.

Strategy Tips

Keep empty columns open — they let you rearrange long mixed-suit runs into same-suit stacks.

Prioritize uncovering face-down cards early; each flip adds options and may expose new merges.

In 4-suit mode, try to build same-suit chains even when you can legally stack mixed suits.

Quick Tips

  • Never deal while a column is empty — fill gaps first so you do not lock yourself out.
  • Move kings and near-complete runs to empty columns to free buried cards underneath.
  • Same-suit sequences move together; mixed-suit stacks only move one card at a time from the top.
  • Watch for auto-cleared runs — they can flip a new card and open a cascade of moves.
  • Start on 1-suit mode to learn the rhythm, then step up to 2- and 4-suit challenges.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many decks does Spider use?

Two full decks — 104 cards total — dealt into ten columns plus a fifty-card stock dealt five rows of ten.

What is the difference between 1-, 2- and 4-suit modes?

Easy uses one suit (all spades). Medium mixes two suits. Hard uses all four suits — the classic challenge.

When can I deal from the stock?

When at least ten cards remain and every tableau column has at least one card. Each deal adds one face-up card per column.

How do I win?

Clear eight complete king-to-ace runs of the same suit. They remove automatically when formed in the tableau.

Are scores saved?

Yes. Best time per difficulty and your last fifteen wins are stored locally in your browser.
